Case Study: Business and Systems Analysis

Based on the extensive advisory work undertaken with a key financial sector client Business Aspect was engaged to provide a senior resource to undertake business analysis work as part of a key program of work. Key capability requirements included:

  • knowledge of financial markets systems and processes
  • ability to query SQL/Oracle databases
  • knowledge of financial markets
  • ability to drive projects forward from initiation to delivery
  • ability to define the scope of work and prepare and deliver the required project documentation
  • ability to translate user customs and practices into well documented requirements while understanding the future model of the business

Business Aspect provided a senior Business Analyst to the program with extensive local and overseas financial services experience. The role was responsible for undertaking the analysis and provision of a new integrated portfolio and risk management system for Capital Markets Division. The work included the sole responsibility for the requirements gathering and identification of suitable solutions, including costing, gap analysis and vendor engagement.

The outcome was successful delivery of the program requirements over an extended period which included a number of engagement extensions. The provision of the delivery resource was supported with account management by a Business Aspect Director.
