Case Study: Systems Integration
Business Aspect was engaged as the System Integration Project Manager for the Planning and Analysis stages of a major, business-critical, departmental project. The focus of the project was on the development and implementation of a centralised system (including Finance), that would replace the distributed system running in approximately 1300 locations across the state.
Business Aspect was initially tasked with development of a System Integration (SI) Methodology for re-use across all of the department’s projects. The methodology had to align with the APT Software Development Life Cycle and the Prince2 Project Management Methodology. Once the methodology was completed, the project moved into the first stage (Requirements Definition) of the SI lifecycle.
Business Aspect facilitated and managed the product based planning process and development of all Prince2 product artefacts for the SI Requirements Definition stage. Business Aspect also developed the Next Stage Plan for the second stage of the SI lifecycle.
