Business Aspect announces ACT executive appointments
Strong expertise in shared services, business & ICT strategy, enterprise architecture and integrated process management & improvement drives Business Aspect growth in Canberra
Canberra, Australia (21 October, 2015) Business Aspect, respected national management and technology consultancy, has made a series of senior appointments to grow its business in the ACT and to broaden its consulting base across the country.
Greg Field, former Managing Partner of Ernst & Young Canberra, was head hunted in early 2015 to set up the practice, and the company has since recruited Carsten Larsen and Andrew Clark as Principals based in Canberra. Both Andrew and Carsten have significant senior executive experience in major organisations.
In a little over nine months Business Aspect has grown a sustainable business in the ACT with impressive local presence. We have added real value and provided truly independent advice to clients including Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, Department of the Treasury, Department of Finance, Australian Federal Police, Department of Communications, Department of Education and Training, the National Health and Medical Research Council, Questacon, the National Library of Australia, and the Royal Australian Mint.
Greg Field is the Principal responsible for Business Aspect’s Federal Government and ACT business. He has a background in professional services, having been Managing Partner of Ernst & Young in Canberra, and a PwC partner in his earlier career. He has also held senior public service roles, including Deputy Secretary at Austrade, Head of Corporate Services at the Department of Resource, Energy and Tourism, and Chief Information Officer at the Department of Industry. He was seconded to the Department of Finance in mid 2014 to work on the whole of Government shared services initiative, an area in which he has particular and longstanding professional expertise.
Greg says: “I am delighted to lead Business Aspect’s ACT and Federal Government business. The Business Aspect offering is resonating strongly in Canberra, and we are pleased to be working with so many great clients already”.
Andrew Clark joins Business Aspect as a Principal in a national role, based in Canberra. He was previously Chief Finance Officer, and interim Chief Executive Officer, at Airservices Australia. He has over 20 years’ executive experience in providing assurance, financial management, consulting, governance and risk management services in both the private and public sectors. Industry sectors in which he has worked and provided advice include aviation, healthcare, education, information technology, defence, treasury, viticulture, mining, not for profit and financial services (credit unions and superannuation).
Carsten Larsen is a strategy, change, and transformation specialist. Prior to joining Business Aspect as a Principal in Canberra, he held a variety of Chief Information Officer and General Management positions with major international companies and Commonwealth and State bodies including the Australian Communications Management Authority, the NSW State Rail Authority and ActewAGL. These roles have provided Carsten with extensive experience in managing diverse requirements of multiple stakeholders, including rapidly changing circumstances within tight timeframes, delivering successful outcomes. Carsten is an active Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy charity supporter and also a CIO Mentor for the CIO Executive Council, having previously held the position of Chair.
Dan Woodrow, David Pollock and Sven Wittchen have been recruited as Senior Consultants in Business Aspect’s Canberra-based team, which also includes a number of associated contractors – most of whom have had SES-level experience in previous public service roles.
“The appointment of this high calibre group of consultants in Canberra, led by Greg Field as our ACT and Federal Government Principal, demonstrates Business Aspect’s commitment to national growth, particularly in our nation’s capital”, says David Lennon, Business Aspect’s national General Manager. “The appointment of Greg, Carsten, Andrew, Dan, David and Sven in Canberra has created a strong Business Aspect presence in the ACT, a presence which will continue to grow.”
“You need to find the right leadership and then the right people to work with that leadership to deliver great outcomes,” Lennon says.
