Government

All tiers of government across Australia face constant and deepening challenges in the delivery of services and in the setting of effective policies. The constant challenge of 'doing more with less'; is exacerbated by factors such as; an uncertain economic situation, an ageing population, the challenges of globalisation, and the constant tension between policy areas (e.g. economic and environmental). The scope of the policies that the governments are involved in is constantly expanding; at a federal level recent examples are national broadband network, mining super tax, carbon emissions and global warming.

Business Aspect’s ability to bring sense to complexity, and to develop sound strategic planning that provides a clearly understood path to required outcomes, has allowed us to make a difference at all tiers of government in Australia. Value has been regularly derived from the ability to extend strategy-related outcomes to the development of comprehensive business and enterprise architecture based blueprints that detail the way forward.

An example includes the work done in the area of regulatory simplification where we have developed for state government a well-defined roadmap for the rationalisation of regulation in areas such as environment and resource management. Other examples include Business Aspect's work in the development of the business architecture and associated areas for a new federal government agency and the resulting regulatory body, and the work performed in the federal education sector in the development of 'current state'; and strategy-related outcomes in areas such as student identifiers. Business Aspect has extensive involvement in framing solutions for emissions trading and disaster recovery funding.

Business Aspect’s performance in the government sector is further reflected in the following case studies:
